A brief analysis confirms an unchanged high level of all key figures for the SENSOR+TEST 2017. Especially conspicuous is that more and more international guests are visiting the fair in Nürnberg. A fact that validates it as the leading trade fair for sensor, measuring, and testing technology worldwide. New as of 2018: In the future, the SENSOR+TEST will always be held in the last week of June.

While the fair had a slight decline in the number of visitors – 8,107 compared to the previous year’s 8,656 – the share of international guests rose to a record of 28%. The number of exhibitors though – 569 compared to the previous year’s 586 – remained practically unchanged. Nevertheless, the booked floor space increased significantly to an area of 9,069 m². Holger Bödeker, the managing director of the organizing AMA Service GmbH, commenting on this, said, “Our exhibitors still want more room to display their products and services – especially for demonstrating their innovative sensor and measuring solutions in actual applications.”
Satisfied Exhibitors, Competent Visitors
First and foremost, the exhibitors at the SENSOR+TEST appreciate the high quality of their contacts at the fair. As much as 98% of the participants consider themselves as technical professionals according to the poll and 92% of them influence the purchasing decisions in their enterprise. The high degree of competence among the visitors is also confirmed by Dr. Mareike Haaß, head of marketing at Turck duotec GmbH. “Year for year, we register an increase in qualified discussions and interesting new contacts at the fair,” she says. “Thus, we can consider the results as markedly positive. We expect a further increase in visitors thanks to the fixed dates for the future.” Marco Stock, the divisional sales manager at Kistler Instrumente GmbH, adds, “It must be emphasized that the continually growing internationality of the SENSOR+TEST is certainly a benefit for us as a globally operating enterprise.”
New Permanent Date
As of next year, the trade fair will no longer be held the week before Pentecost. It will now be held permanently during the last week of June. Thus the SENSOR+TEST 2018 – with the special topic “Sensor and Measuring Technology in the Industrial Internet” – will be held from 26 to 28 June 2018 at the Nürnberg Exhibition Center. The regular conferences, the 19. ITG/GMA – Sensoren und Messsysteme as well as the ettc2018 – European Test and Telemetry Conference will take place parallel.
The overall sensor industry looks forward optimistically to the near future. No less than two-thirds of the polled exhibitors and visitors expect a further growth in the area of sensor, measuring, and testing technology. No wonder that many regular exhibitors have already secured their spot at the next SENSOR+TEST.
